The 18-year-old younger brother of the Grammy-nominated artist Frank Ocean has reportedly died in tragic circumstances.

According to US news outlet ABC 7, two people died in a single car crash in California at 1.30am Sunday morning local time.

Ocean’s brother, Ryan Breaux, has not been named by authorities but an influencer by the name of B Scott is claiming that Breaux and a friend of his were the victims involved in the accident.

ABC 7 are reporting that the car collided with a tree, and that “the force of the crash caused the car to rip in half,” and was found “engulfed in flames.”

While Ocean, 32, has yet to make an official comment on the reports, close friends of his brother have begun paying tribute to the 18-year-old on social media.

It comes after Frank Ocean’s set at the Coachella music festival was cancelled.

Organisers of the 2020 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival announced in June that they would officially postpone the event due to coronavirus, asking their headlining acts to consider new dates in 2021.

Rage Against The Machine, Frank Ocean and Travis Scott were all supposed to be headlining the two weekend long festival this year, that was initially rescheduled to October.

Ocean — real name Christopher Edwin Breaux— rose to fame after he secured a recording contract with Def Jam Recordings, before releasing his debut studio album Channel Orange.

Orange was nominated for Album of the Year, Best Urban Contemporary Album and Record of the Year at the 2013 Grammy Awards.
