Good gold grades for Mt Malcolm at Golden Crown

The final results from Mt Malcolm Mines’ first RC drilling program over its historic Golden Crown project have backed up earlier assays, with one hole returning 4m at 2.99 g/t gold from 28-32m, including 1m at 5.78 g/t from 29-30m.

Earlier results included a 3m hit grading a formidable 11.97 grams per tonne gold from 37m including 1m going a whopping 33.61g/t gold.

The 860m drilling program was Mt Malcolm’s inaugural campaign using RC over the Golden Crown project.

Golden Crown is a significant historic gold producing area that produced more than 1,720 ounces at the turn of last century.

The company is also keeping its eye on other mineral opportunities that might arise at the project and said it plans to follow up on some sulphidic zones that were intersected in the recent nine RC drill hole program with multi-element geochemical analysis. Future drilling will include standard base metals analysis in the sulphidic zones to complement down hole gold analysis.

Following the initial Golden Crown drill program, the company is now planning a follow up, deeper RC drilling operation targeting the strike and depth extensions of the gold system together with an evaluation of the base metals potential.

Mt Malcolm’s acreage is centred around the abandoned locale of the old Malcolm townsite near Leonora. It covers an extensive area that straddles the Leonora-Laverton road and extends northwest.

The Golden Crown Prospect is shaping up well with several high-grade gold intersections received to date. Limited drilling has confirmed and identified high grade shallow gold mineralisation that remains open along strike and completely open at depth.

The prospect is at an early exploration stage and warrants further follow-up RC drilling.

Market watchers will no doubt note the postcode of the project and the recent results and will be hoping the junior explorer can emulate the success of nearby majors such as Sons of Gwalia and King of the Hills in an address that is well known for its gold endowment.
