Gantheaume Pointers secure decisive victory over Raiders in round six of Broome basketball

In a standout performance at the Broome Recreation and Aquatic Centre on March 27, the Gantheaume Pointers showcased their prowess on the basketball court by clinching a decisive victory over the Raiders in round six of the men’s A-grade basketball competition.

Raiders’ Brendon Thomas topped his team’s score with 11 points, while the Pointers’ Tom Schorer led the match with an impressive 19 points, helping his team to victory 50-32.

This victory propelled the Pointers to second place in the standings, leaving the Raiders in fifth position.

The Tigers roared to success against the Peninsula Bombers, 38-29.

Tremaine Hart from the Tigers emerged as the top scorer, contributing significantly to his team’s victory with 10 points.

The Tigers maintained their dominant position at the top of the standings, while the Bombers now sit in third.

Another highlight was the match between the Jets and the Drifterz, which ended in a 64-47 victory for the Jets.

Brennan Stack led the scoring with a remarkable 20 points for the Jets, while Chris Hunter was the top scorer for the Drifterz with 18.

The Jets ascended to fourth place, leaving the Drifterz trailing at the bottom of the ladder.

In the women’s competition, the Raiders triumphed over the Slammers with a commanding 42-22 victory, consolidating their top position in the standings.

The Tigers narrowly defeated the Sky Breakers in a thrilling match that went down to the wire, 39-38.

Despite the loss, the Sky Breakers’ Tamara Albert was the match’s top scorer with 10 points.

The Lady Bombers also celebrated a victory over the Drifters, 38-21.

Shaqirah Akune led the scoring for the Bombers with 14 points, helping the team to secure their third-place standing.

In the men’s social competition, the Bumblebees stung the Cobras 61-33, thanks to Nestor Jordan’s leading score of 16 points, reinforcing their position at the top of the standings.

The Wolves outmanoeuvred the Misfits, with Paul Treacy scoring 15 points and leading his team to a 46-39 victory.

Broome Best Cleaning Services outplayed the Tigers with a solid 60-40 victory, while MUA narrowly edged out the Broome Gators 37-33.
